Quality & compliance

Food moves on documents as much as it moves on ships. We treat compliance as part of the specification.

Our position

Licensed partners, not improvisation

For our first transactions we work through licensed third-party importers, customs brokers, food handlers, cold stores and distributors rather than performing regulated activities ourselves. That is a deliberate choice: those parties are accountable, insured and experienced, and it keeps food-safety risk where it can actually be managed.

Document verification

We collect and check certificates of origin, phytosanitary and health certificates, packing lists, inspection reports and quality certificates — and we check expiry dates, not just existence.

Third-party inspection

Inspection at origin, on loading, or on arrival — agreed in writing before the order, including who appoints the inspector and who bears the cost.

Cold-chain terms

Temperature regime, shelf-life expectation on arrival and data-logger requirements are specified up front for every temperature-sensitive lane.

Claims procedure

Rejection thresholds, delay handling, claims windows and evidence requirements are agreed before the first shipment — not negotiated after a problem.

Customs & clearance

Handled by experienced freight forwarders and licensed customs brokers, including consignment release and any required product registration in the destination market.

Counterparty checks

Bank-detail changes and unusual payment requests are always verified manually through a known channel before any funds move. No exceptions.

Operating boundary

What we will not do

A company must not import, store, sell or advertise products outside the activities and approvals on its licence. We hold ourselves to that plainly, and we would rather lose an enquiry than take one we cannot legitimately fulfil.

  • We do not quote outside our licensed activity scope.
  • We do not claim certifications, approvals or registrations we do not hold.
  • We do not import food in our own name where a licensed importer is required.
  • We do not accept open-account terms on a first transaction with a new counterparty.
  • We do not let automated systems agree prices, contracts, bank details or legal commitments.
